
Mid-Level Marine Electrician

Responsibilities:
- Engages in advanced electrical tasks encompassing system design, diagnostic analysis, repairs, and installing various equipment, including battery chargers, inverters, inverter/chargers, DC-DC converters, voltage regulators, solar chargers, and shore power systems. Notable examples of such systems include those manufactured by Victron, Mastervolt, and A/Sea.
- This individual is accountable for independently diagnosing and resolving issues and may supervise personnel at entry-level technical positions.
Skills:
- Demonstrates exceptional communication skills.
- Proficient in utilizing diagnostic software, with a demonstrated ability to swiftly acquire knowledge of new product software.
- Well-versed in Microsoft Office applications.
- Possesses a comprehensive understanding of marine electrical systems.
- Capable of reading and interpreting technical manuals and schematics accurately.
- Experienced in employing diagnostic tools, including multimeters, power analyzers, and circuit testers.
- Skilled in designing and implementing electrical layouts for a diverse range of systems, encompassing distribution panels, lighting systems, battery systems, charging systems, inverters, variable frequency drives (VFDs), frequency converters, transformers, and more.
- Adept at conducting corrosion assessments and analyzing the resulting data.
- Proficient in identifying safety concerns and providing informed recommendations.
Education/Experience:
- ABYC Electrical Certification
- ABYC Advanced Electrical Certification
- Suggested minimum of 10 years of experience
Environment
- 80% of time spent onboard or driving to vessels in and out of water, primarily in local marinas or boatyards.
- 20% in the shop or office environment.
- Travel to domestic and international marinas and boatyards shall be required; however, the duration and location vary depending on the work.
- Some bending, stooping, and lifting weights to 75 lbs. should be expected.
- Non-climate-controlled and confined space environments should be expected.

- The salary range for this position is $30 to $40 per hour, contingent upon the level of proficiency demonstrated in the skills mentioned above and the individual's educational qualifications and relevant work experience.
